Metro Manila, Philippines – Zumicon Coating and Waterproofing Services Co. is currently undertaking a large-scale waterproofing and epoxy lining project for massive concrete water tanks owned and operated by Maynilad Water Services, Inc., one of the country’s foremost water service providers.

The ongoing works involve a meticulous and multi-phase scope that began with the removal of existing waterproofing membranes and deteriorated epoxy coatings, followed by comprehensive crack treatment procedures to restore the structural soundness of each tank.

A key highlight of this project is the exclusive use of a specialized waterproofing and lining system developed by Sealbond Chemicals, formulated specifically for the operational and safety standards required by Maynilad. This advanced system is engineered for high resistance to water pressure, microbial activity, and long-term exposure, ensuring a leak-free and hygienic environment for potable water storage.

“Our team is working with precision and speed, given the scale and importance of these tanks in Metro Manila’s water distribution system,” said a spokesperson from Zumicon. “Each tank is treated with utmost care—from surface preparation and crack repair to the final epoxy lining—ensuring it meets both durability and water safety standards.”

Once completed, the project will help ensure the long-term integrity of these vital water storage facilities, safeguarding them against leakage, contamination, and structural deterioration. The successful delivery of this project underscores Zumicon’s expertise in handling critical infrastructure waterproofing for public utilities.

The project is expected to be completed in phases, with strict adherence to Maynilad’s quality protocols and industry best practices.
